"I do this for myself!"

"I do this for myself!"... "Sign my guestbook! Give me hits! Show me fansigns! Give me your internet LoOoOooVe"

How often do you see a situation like that? WAY too often in my eyes. I read profiles and they all sound like these... independant "fuck you" types... But then they end up being "Give me your internet LooOooOOve cuz I'm in dire need of attention" types. What is it with people and saying one thing in their bios and then acting completely different in their blog? It makes no sense.

You maybe thinking "Well, aren't you a part of that hypocritical bunch, too? You have log! You have a bio! It MUST be true." Well, go read my bio? See any inconsistancies with my writing here and my writing there? If so, tell me so that I can re-evaluate my dislike for people who portray themselves one way and act another.

7 have spoken

Ohoho! I can catch the little hidden dig there. Touch a nerve? People aren't usually that defensive unless they feel they're being targeted.

oh yeah, by the way, if you have a webpage, you are publishing. it's not a private diary. if you are linking other people.. anyone, it's not private. you are doing it to get attention. i like attention. i want to meet people through my blogs. i like to socialize. nobody who has a webpage should deny that, unless just their friends see it.

no, i'm pretty self-confident that i'm cool enough for most people out there. sometimes i wish i was 6 feet tall and i was a model, but i'm good enough. cool enough. in fact, i don't go around criticizing webpages that don't have good content or just have links of their friends. because most of my links are people i see in real life. oh no. but i do enjoy having complete strangers complimenting me. i'm vain like that. secondary verification is always good. that's why i always jump into a circle at a club or a party.

Speaking of Brad Pitt, don't you hate it when people put celebrities on their page that have no relation to the content?! Like a giant picture of Drew Barrymore and no mention of why she's there on her blog. I dunno. That really annoys me.

In general, people always want to romanticize about how much they rock, even if/when they don't. Noone likes to think of themself as a 'lamer'. At the same time, these same people also feel the neverending need for external validation - other prople to back up their claim that they are 'king of the world'. Cries of 'love me' are inversely proportionate to a person's self worth. It's not neccesarily a bad thing, just a thing.

I, on the other hand, know that I am not the next Brad Pitt; I'm just a 'lamer' that likes to put pics of his kid online, and writes his webpage for himself and a select few; if I happen to gain an audience along the way, so much the better.
