9/11

I suppose I should say something about this, put my own piece in with the rest.

Other than the few obvious facts, the dying economy, the flying flags waving in the air, the new sense of nationalism, and a sad and detached feeling of loss, I feel awful because I can't tell you exactly how much 9/11 has had an effect on my life -- so many things would have changed regardless of whether or not the events occured. 9/11 struck days before I left for college, and needless to say this has been one of the more tumultuous years of my life. Would it have been if 9/11 had not happened? Most likely. Would it have been different if it hadn't? Most definately. Looking back to one year from today, I can hardly imagine how I must have been, how different America was, and how much pain has been suffered on and since that day.

The events of 9/11 and the subsequent reactions have hovered like a shadow around every corner throughout this year. It's been there to darken the lightest and darkest of days and I can't stand to comprehend the terrible pain that has been thrust upon the nameless faceless, the ones I've seen on TV, and people that I've known (or worse, cared for). It's too much for my weak mind to take on.

It's still difficult for me to watch the news sometimes.

911 events isnt somethign u can forget about. The black plague happened more than 500 years ago and ppl still remember the event, even though much has faded. 911 happened just a year ago, and the emotions, empathy is still strong. Here in Asia, we r also share that strong feeling even though we are half way across the globe.

But its 6am, and its a new day and there is a mountain to conquer!

I have the same feelings toward 9/11 as u do. We had to go through the entire day of skool watching them call the names of the victims. My heart goes out to the ppl. Your not weak minded at all because everyone is feeling it.peace out!

Being that you're not a NY'er, I'm astonished at the effect that 9/11 has had on people around the world. Myself, being a survivor of those events, have had a greater appreciation for the positive that this world has to offer. I too have had quite the tumultuous year, I agree with Louis though, hang in there. What was deemed normal 367 days ago, will never be the same as normal on 9.11.03. We will adapt, we will survive, and we will all make it though these insane times. Take care.

I'm not going to comment much on this. I just wanted to point out one thing; It's not a weak mind you have, it's just strong emotions. Many feel the same pain. All I can say is, hang in there.
