nonsense

It's been so long since I've attempted to write anything. It's been so long since I've even thought about spilling my mind to my blog the way that I used to. It is so hard for me for some reason these days... so difficult to think about anything to write that others or even I might remotely care about.

Strange, isn't it?

I feel almost as if I've unfairly used my journal. As if it's some living being that I spilled my guts to and then just tossed away -- maybe because my eyes are not the only ones that see this.

----

I feel like I've changed. I apologize for the unexpected hiatus.

But keep the archive. You would only regret it if you threw that away :)

Take as long as you need to find yourself again. We all need a break from others trying to live through us sometimes. Don't make it an obligation to entertain your audience because you're not getting paid.

Not yet at least, haha.

It's a hobby dear -- not an obligation.

What allows people to enjoy your weblog is the joy you get and the transparency of thought and emotion that gives us a glimpse into what makes you tick -- what makes us all tick.

If you strip away that innate joy you get from sharing yourself in that way, if the hobby changes from pleasurable pursuit to grudging obligation, then you have changed and you should embrace that change and welcome whatever new pursuits it brings you.

A stamp collection does not complain, a collection of pogs or Pokemon cards can all be cast aside without a second look back. Sometimes, we grow beyond our youthful joys -- if that is the case it's no use being melancholy about it. Pen a farewell and move on.

Or strip the journal down to its essentials and rebuild it in your new image if the old one doesn't suit you.

Whatever you do, feel no guilt on my account.

I dunno... Other things have taken precidence. Sometimes people need a change...

I think many of us do care in a sort of vicarious way, but a lot of us are just faceless names, or random IP addresses in your log I suppose. One question I'd pose is what kind of relationship do you want with "your public"?
